Telephone counselling

Do you live a long way from Bristol, London or Taunton? Telephone counselling offers a very simple and convenient way to access, long distance, much of the work I do. (It is not suitable for all issues.)

My current fee for telephone counselling is £36-00 per hour, paid for in advance.

I normally ask for a commitment to a series of three sessions at first. So you pay initially £108, then session by session after that.
If you live within normal travelling distance of Bristol, London or Taunton, then I do not offer phone counselling, only face-to-face meetings.
You can pay either by Paypal or by cheque in advance.
Telephone counselling is not suitable for some issues, and in particular not if you are feeling suicidal or are in crisis right now. In this case I suggest the outstanding specialist support offered by the Samaritans, in the UK 08457 90 90 90 and in the ROI 1850 60 90 90. (Elsewhere, please refer to: http://www.befrienders.org/)

Confidentiality. The following terms are standard to almost all counsellors, hypnotherapists, psychotherapists etc. What we discuss is confidential, with these exceptions: (a) If I feel there is a real risk you may harm yourself eg commit suicide, then I would take steps to inform your GP. (b) If I feel there is a real risk of harm to others, in particular potential child abuse, then again I would inform the authorities. (For example, that someone who abused you might abuse others.)
(c) Therapists of all types typically have some kind of arrangement, termed "supervision", where they discuss difficulties with clients with another practitioner. This is done anonymously, and typically focuses more on the therapist's relationship with the client than on the client themselves.

Another way to work with me if you live a long way away is by a extended-length ("breakthrough") session.

For telephone counselling, please note the initial commitment is three one-hour sessions, ie £108.
